MOORHEAD — After missing five games to injury, Moorhead Spuds quarterback Jett Feeney braced himself for a Week 8 matchup against Edina.

Heading into the Spuds huddle for the first time in over a month, Feeney couldn’t help but feel a few butterflies in his stomach.

Those feelings were quickly shaken off.

“I got it rolling,” Feeney said.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound junior finished 35 of 41 with 387 yards and four touchdowns in a 51-44 win over the Hornets in the regular season finale.

The game was the first of a four-game surge that revitalized Moorhead’s season.

In the playoffs, sixth-seeded Moorhead knocked off No. 3 seed Blaine 38-21, No. 2 seed Woodbury 64-48 and No. 1 seed Centennial 35-21 in their quadrant of the Minnesota Class 6A football bracket.
