ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - DeKalb County firefighters battled a warehouse fire on Fleetwood Drive Wednesday morning.
Heavy smoke and flames were seen coming from the mixed-use building when firefighters arrived just after 4 a.m. Officials say “several art studios, among other things,” are housed inside the building.
According to DeKalb County Fire, the fire may have started in the center, with most of the damage seen on the right side. The left side has a small amount of smoke and water damage.
Officials say firefighters had to use a stretched water hose that had to go across railroad tracks due to the closest hydrant being further away than usual. Norfolk Southern was notified and stopped train traffic, but it has since gone back to normal.
