BOSTON —
Local business leaders, including WCVB General Manager Andrew Vrees, stepped into the role of principal for a day at Boston Public Schools as part of the "Principal Partners" event, visiting the Horace Mann School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Charlestown.
"My goal today is to just learn about the school, about the students, about all the firsts here," Vrees said.
Accompanying Vrees was Dr. Michelle Eisan-Smith, the first deaf leader in the school's history.
"We are the first public day school in America, we're 156 years strong, for deaf and hard of hearing students in education," Eisan-Smith said.
The Horace Mann School serves 80 students ranging in age from 3 to 22 years old, who travel from across Massachusetts and New Hampshire to attend.
