WOBURN, Mass. —
Prosecutors are trying to unlock the tablet they say serial rape suspect Stephen Paul Gale tried to retrieve as he led police on a chase through Los Angeles.
Gale, who is charged with raping two women in a Framingham clothing store in 1989, was arrested in August after decades on the run.
Prosecutors made their request Wednesday during a hearing in Middlesex Superior Court. During the hearing, prosecutors revealed that Gale called the dockmaster at the marina where he kept his 76-foot yacht, The Dior, during the chase and asked the dockmaster to go on board and get some of his belongings, including a tablet.
"He asked the dockmaster to retrieve the tablet and its cords and his briefcase from the boat, and that it was his intent to then get those items back," Middlesex A
