Police on Wednesday arrested a suspect in last week's robbery of Fidelity Bank in Slidell after he barricaded himself in the bedroom of a Hollygrove home.
Byron Watson, 36, surrendered himself to authorities after a joint effort by the FBI, New Orleans Police Department and Louisiana State Police, said Slidell Police Chief Daniel Seuzeneau in a social media post.
Last week, on Friday, a man in a wide-brim hat and surgical mask entered Fidelity Bank on Gause Boulevard in Slidell with a walking cane and a limp, walked up to a teller, took a fistful of money and left the bank.
Seuzeneau said Slidell police identified Watson as a suspect on Tuesday evening and sought arrest warrants for armed robbery.
