WASHINGTON — Several students were evaluated, and one was taken to an area hospital, after a possible overdose at a middle school in Southeast D.C.
According to DC Fire Department Spokesman Vito Maggiolo, emergency crews were called to Kramer Middle School just before 2 p.m. for a possible overdose.
When first responders arrived, they found multiple students affected. Six students were evaluated, and one was taken to an area hospital for help.
In a letter to parents and families, Principal Katreena Shelby said school administrators learned a student brought a food item containing a controlled substance to school and shared it with several classmates. After eating, six students began to feel unwell.
After the students were evaluated by a school nurse, DC Fire and EMS were called to help
