MONTICELLO — A strong effort on the penalty kill played a key role for Alexandria girls hockey on Tuesday, Nov. 11.
The Cardinals successfully defended five North Wright County power plays en route to an eventual 4-2 victory at the Moose Sherritt Ice Arena, earning the team’s first victory of the season. Alexandria has won each of its last eight games when scoring four or more times dating back to Jan. 2 of last year.
Alexandria jumped out to a quick start in the opening period, as Quinn Hills found the back of the net two minutes into the game off assists from Bentley Kriel and Anna Korynta. Jersey Severson followed up with a goal of her own at the 6:23 mark of the first as Maya Dutton picked up the assists.
