MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A Madison-based software company has released a wearable panic button to be used in K-12 schools.
Singlewire Software created the panic button with hopes of enhancing safety in schools.
It is called the “Informa-Cast Wearable Alert Badge.”
The founder of the device, Paul Shain, said the device could be critical in an active threat scenario.
“When events happen, a really simple, easy, quick button push is much easier to remember.” Shain said. “I don’t need a password, I don’t need to open an app on my phone.”
Shain added that all you need to do is grab your panic button and hit it.
The panic button has two options for requesting help by button-press: one for floor and room level accurate information, and another to alert first responders when the badge is activa
