MALDEN, Mass. —

Malden High School is grieving the death of an 18-year-old student who died weeks after being shot in Boston's Mattapan neighborhood.

G'Kiyah Lewis, a senior, died Friday after being critically injured in a midday triple shooting on Hiawatha Road in Mattapan on Oct. 11.

Classmates at Malden High had hoped for her recovery and return to school.

"She didn't talk that much, quiet. She didn't get bothered by much," said fellow senior Lenz Gachett.

The school community is experiencing grief and concern, especially since police have not made any arrests.
