CHARDON, Ohio — Devin Hernandez, a former coach and athletic administrator at Hawken and Notre Dame Cathedral Latin, has been sentenced to prison after previously pleading guilty to two counts of third-degree sexual battery in Geauga County Common Pleas Court.

Judge Carolyn Paschke sentenced the 30-year-old Hernandez to four years in prison, plus five years of probation upon his release. The charges of sexual battery involved a 17-year-old in incidents that took place over a period of several months in 2023 when Hernandez was a strength and conditioning coach at Hawken.

"I have to think that if someone did this to, to you or to one of your siblings or one of your family members, you would be asking me to punish them to the max," Paschke told Hernandez as she gave her sentence.
