SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - The government shutdown has created far-reaching impacts across the country.
Thousands of families lost government assistance to feed their families. Airlines cancelled thousands of flights, forcing travelers to scramble to get home. Many essential government workers remain on the job but have been working without pay.
Republican Mark Alford, who represents the northern Ozarks, told KY3 News he is ready to reopen the government.
“We’re not taking a victory lap,” said Rep. Mark Alford. “We know that everyone has had a negative effect from the government not being open.
