NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A record number of families in Nashville are struggling to feed their pets, with the Nashville Humane Association reporting more than double the households seeking help from their pet food bank.
The organization now serves 1,072 pets every month, distributing 3,116 pounds of food as families face inflation, layoffs and reduced SNAP benefits.
“The need is definitely there and we just want to be able to provide as much as we can,” said Taylor Spreitler of the Nashville Humane Association.
