BILLINGS, Mont. – Dameka Rose American Horse, a 26-year-old woman from Billings, was arraigned on murder and firearm charges related to an incident on the Crow Indian Reservation, U.S. Attorney Kurt Alme with the District of Montana announced.
During the arraignment, Alme said American Horse pleaded not guilty to charges of second-degree murder and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence.
The indictment accuses American Horse of deliberately killing a man near Pryor on November 22, 2024. She is also charged with possessing a firearm during the crime. If convicted, she could face life imprisonment, a $250,000 fine and five years of supervised release.
The U.S Attorney’s Office did not identify the victim.
