COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Big changes are coming to Muscogee County high school sports as the Georgia High School Association has reclassified several local schools into higher divisions for the 2026-2028 term.

The reclassification moved several schools from 2A to 3A and 4A divisions, with one school jumping to the 6A division. The changes mean student athletes will face more travel and longer days away from the classroom.

Reclassification based on enrollment numbers

The Georgia High School Association conducts reclassification every two years based on school enrollment numbers.
