The festive season is just around the corner and with it comes some of life’s certainties, such as arguments over when to put up the decorations, Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You on high rotation and traffic chaos around Westfield Carousel.

Given parking is at a premium most weekends, with cars circling the Cannington centre looking for a spot and traffic backed up on surrounding streets, the City of Canning announced last week the introduction of peak-season traffic management.

“With extra shoppers expected over Black Friday and Christmas, the city has approved a traffic management plan to help manage the flow of traffic around Westfield Carousel on Cecil Avenue, Gross Avenue and Liege Street,” it said.

“Please plan your route accordingly and allow extra travel time.”
