SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (KWQC) - Parents and guardians are being told to stop using ByHeart Formula after all of the brand’s Whole Nutrition Infant Formula was recalled, Illinois Department of Public Health officials said.
The powdered infant formula has been linked to 15 suspected or confirmed cases of infant botulism in 12 states, including Illinois, according to a media release.
Two infants have gotten sick in Illinois after eating the product, officials said. One child has a confirmed case of infant botulism Type A.
“If your child has consumed this product and shows any signs of illness, please seek medical care immediately,” IDPH Director Dr. Sameer Vohra said in the release.
Anyone with unopened containers of the formula should throw it out or return it for a refund, officials said.
