ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —
A New Mexico man has been arrested for allegedly abusing and abandoning his nephew.
Randall Pablo, 36, is now facing charges after his 4-year-old nephew was found deceased while in his care.
According to a criminal complaint, Pablo had been watching his nephew, who is referred to as "John Doe" in court documents, at his family's residence, while the child's mother was taking her 1-year-old daughter to the clinic.
Pablo allegedly told the mother of the child that he had been jumped, and his nephew had been killed.
When the mother arrived back at the residence, she saw multiple disheveled items thrown around the house and Pablo lying on the floor next to the 4-year-old child.
