WILSON COUNTY, Tenn. ( WSMV /Gray News) - A man has been charged in a shooting that injured a small dog in Wilson County nearly two months ago.
According to the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office in Tennessee, animal control responded to a call on Sept. 18 regarding a dog that appeared to be injured.
Officers located the small black dog suffering from a severely injured front right leg.
The animal was taken to a local veterinarian, where X-rays revealed bullet fragments inside the leg.
Further examination determined the dog had been shot twice, once grazing the spine and another striking the front right leg at the elbow, shattering the bone.
The 2-year-old cocker spaniel–poodle mix was also reportedly found to be pregnant.
