LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - A Laredo man accused of fatally shooting a German Shepherd is now facing an additional charge after police determined he used a stolen firearm.
Laredo police officers responded to a shots fired report at about 1 a.m. Oct. 2 in the 1500 block of Lafayette Street, where officers discovered a wounded German Shepherd and several spent casings.
Jorge Alberto Diaz Jr., 27, told officers he heard a noise outside the house. When he opened the door, he observed and fatally shot the dog, according to police. He then allegedly provided conflicting statements regarding the circumstances behind the shooting.
