COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - Texas A&M held its second annual training for rural healthcare workers in medical coding and billing.

On Tuesday, the Texas A&M Rural and Community Health Institute started training for healthcare providers in rural areas. The training was offered as a specialized bootcamp called Coding and Billing Bootcamp which is designed to help struggling facilities stay open.

Melissa Lackey is the Director of Rural Health Support and Engagement, and she said the three-day bootcamp partners with ArchPro Coding to help supply this education to providers.

“This bootcamp is about equipping our rural healthcare facilities billers and coders with the education they need to help those facilities accurately submit reimbursement claims,” Lackey explained.
