CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The National Fire Protection Association has some tips on how to stay safe cooking in the kitchen for the holidays.

According to NFPA, "On annual average between 2019 and 2023, cooking accounted for the majority of U.S. home fires on Thanksgiving Day (80 percent) and 40 percent of the civilian injuries".
