COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - The Muscogee County School District will have increased police presence at eight campuses Wednesday after a social media threat circulated Tuesday evening.
The threat referenced Midland Middle School, East Columbus Magnet Academy, Rothschild Middle School, Fort Middle School, Baker Middle School, Shaw High School, Eddy Middle School and Double Churches Middle School.
The MCSD Police Department worked with local law enforcement to investigate the threat and determined it was not credible, according to a district statement.
Police will be present at all affected campuses Wednesday to ensure student and staff safety, the district said.
