PROVIDENCE, RI. (WFSB) - The Hartford Wolf Pack rallied to tie their game late against the Providence Bruins Wednesday night but could not complete the comeback, losing 3-2 in overtime.
The loss extended the Wolf Pack’s losing streak to five games.
Dylan Garand made an impact for Hartford in the game opening period, stopping all 15 shots he faced. The Wolf Pack were outshot 15-5 and the score remained 0-0 through 20 minutes.
Providence broke the deadlock 14:05 into the second period when Joey Abate scored his first goal of the season. Jake Schmaltz sent a pass toward the net for Abate, who tipped the puck past Garand and gave the Bruins a 1-0 lead.
