KARLSTAD, Minn. — A small northwest Minnesota community is preparing to say goodbye to a well-loved member of the community.

Kevin "Beef" Sele, 57, will be laid to rest Saturday, Nov. 15, at First Lutheran Church in Karlstad. The funeral will take place exactly two weeks after he was found dead inside his home next to the Kick’N Up Kountry Music fairgrounds.

The chief deputy of the Kittson County Sheriff’s Office said investigators are asking for patience as they work to ensure the case is fully investigated.

Brenda Norberg, a close friend of Sele, said the loss is difficult.

"It's hard, super hard," she said.

Sele, part of the "Lake Bronson" crew who loved listening to country singer Hank Williams Jr., earned the nickname "Beef" as a young football player in school.
