Middletown Superintendent Alberto Vázquez Matos was arrested in Florida and charged with driving under the influence, according to police records.
The arrest happened in July in Brandon, Florida, just east of Tampa. Police paperwork shows Vázquez Matos was charged with DUI after refusing to take a blood-alcohol test.

He’s also accused of holding driver’s licenses in both Connecticut and Florida, which is illegal.
The Middletown Board of Education is holding a special meeting Thursday to discuss the situation and determine whether any action will be taken regarding Vázquez Matos’ employment.
