The Jefferson County Veterans Association held its annual Veterans Day program Tuesday in Friendship Park’s 4-H building. Thomas Graham sang the national anthem, while Kenny Reynolds and Vince Pastre entertained through songs written by Reynolds, including one penned while stationed in Vietnam. Guest speaker Ray Hildebrand, president of the Jefferson County Fair Board, spoke on the “exceptional and respectful relationship between the board and the JCVA.”
Tony Phillippi, a founder of the JCVA in 1995, at right, has served as finance officer for 30 years. Commander Frank Santa presented Phillippi with a plaque and custom-made wooden flag for his service, dedication and work ethic to the association and all veterans.
