SPOKANE, Wash. – The Washington State Department of Transportation's Eastern Region is inviting the public to join the Placemaking Engagement Series , a workshop focused on the future of public spaces along the I-90 corridor.

The series begins in November and continues through April 2026, offering a collaborative platform for community members.

The first workshop will take place on Thursday, Nov. 20, at Frances Scott Elementary in Spokane. Doors open at 4:30 p.m., and the workshop runs from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Participants will have the chance to reflect on past efforts and discuss meaningful places in East Central and the City of Spokane Valley.

The workshop aims to recap previous community input and explore new ideas for placemaking features.
