LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) - The Huskers own bragging rights and then some.
Nebraska women’s basketball defeated rival Creighton in dominant fashion, 84-50 Wednesday night at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Elkhorn North alum Britt Prince led all scorers with 18 points in the victory.
The Bluejays, who entered the matchup having won eight of nine previous meetings with The Big Red, turned the ball over a staggering 25 times in the loss. Creighton’s first bucket, a Kennedy Townsend three-pointer 46 seconds into the contest, marked the only time the Jays led.
With the Big Red in front 14-9 in the final seconds of the first quarter, Jessica Petrie unleashed a three-quarter court shot that hit at time expired, sending the Huskers bench into a frenzy and setting the tone for the remaining 30 minutes. Petrie
