MANCHESTER, N.H. —

U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy, a potential 2028 presidential candidate, was in New Hampshire Wednesday.

The Connecticut Democrat participated in a "Stand Up New Hampshire" town hall at Saint Anselm College.

He later stopped by WMUR for a one-0n-one interview with political director Adam Sexton.

"I'm certainly not here as a presidential candidate and in fact, I think it'd be a big mistake for anybody to assume right now that there's going to be a free and fair election in 2028. I think Donald Trump is serious about wanting to run for a third term," Murphy said.

Murphy has represented Connecticut in the U.S. Senate since 2013.
