Passengers aboard a sailing boat issued an urgent distress call after their vessel capsized in choppy waters hundreds of miles out to sea.
Five people were left stranded 260 nautical miles - 399 miles - off Cape Hatteras in North Carolina, the US, on Thursday after their boat started taking on water, the Virginia Coast Guard said. The service said in a statement that Coast Guard Sector North Carolina Command Center watchstanders received a distress call from the crew of the Magic Bus when five people were forced to abandon ship.
