Boxing icon Frank Bruno has launched a withering attack on the hospital in which he was placed after being sectioned in 2003.
The beloved fighter is fighting back after claiming he was "treated like a slave" during his time in care at Goodmayes Hospital.
The 63-year-old was revered during his heyday in the 1980s and 90s but suffered hard times in the years which followed him hanging up his gloves after his second defeat to Mike Tyson in 1996.
Bruno's inherent decency has long been revered – he classily reached out to the dad of tragic Scots boxer Jim Murray after his tragic death following a bout in Glasgow in 1995.
The national boxing icon has bared his soul and the embarrassment and shame which followed the intervention surrounding his mental health
