David Thompson, Monroe Co. drain commissioner since 2012, is retiring

David P. Thompson, Monroe County drain commissioner since 2012, is retiring.

Thompson has accepted a job with ITC Holdings. His last day with the drain commission is Dec. 15. Tim Csurgo will fill in as drain commissioner.

“Tim Csurgo, chief deputy, will be handling things until the prosecutor, clerk and chief probate judge decide on the future of the position, per state law,” Thompson said. “(Csurgo) has about 30 years of experience."
