Michigan's firearm deer season opens this Saturday, Nov. 15, with many hunters expected due to the season starting on a weekend.
Here's a checklist of what hunters need to know before heading into the woods:

Regular firearm season is Nov. 15-30, 2025
Opening day legal hours are 6:53 a.m. to 5:40 p.m.
License and tags
In Michigan, all hunters are required to possess a hunting license and deer tags for kills.
Annual base hunting license: $11
Single deer license: $20
Deer combo license includes two licenses, one regular and one restricted: $40
Antlerless deer license: $20
Deer senior license, age 65 plus: $8
Deer combo senior license, age 65 plus: $28 (includes $8 regular and $20 restricted)
Out-of-state resident: $151 base license or deer co
