Actor James Van Der Beek is planning to auction items from the TV show “Dawson’s Creek” and the film “Varsity Blues” to raise money for his cancer treatment.
The memorabilia will be sold from Dec. 5 to 7 as part of Propstore’s Winter Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction, according to The Hollywood Reporter . All of the money raised will go toward treating Van Der Beek’s stage 3 colorectal cancer, which was diagnosed in 2023.
“I’ve been storing these treasures for years, waiting for the right time to do something with them, and with all of the recent unexpected twists and turns life has presented recently, it’s clear that the time is now,” Van Der Beek, 48, tells People magazine .
