But enjoy it while it lasts, because the weather machine cranks up this weekend and brings a much more energetic pattern. And tucked just beyond that? A stronger hint of early-season winter is waiting in the wings.

This afternoon, highs will be in the mid-50s to mid-60s under a mix of sun and clouds. A warmer push of air rides in from the southwest on Friday, and it could drag along a few light showers or sprinkles late Friday into early Saturday. By Saturday, the warmth really flexes, sending temps into the mid-60s to low-70s, all boosted by a stiff southwest wind ahead of an incoming cold front Saturday night into Sunday.
