A new storm is to sweep the UK with torrential downpours this weekend following a slew of weather warnings. ‌

Storm Claudia, named by the Spanish Meteorological Service due to ongoing impacts in Canary Islands, has resulted in amber rain warnings in southern and central parts of England and Wales. ‌

While Scotland currently isn't set to see Claudia's impact on Friday and Saturday (November 15 and 16), Scots should also brace for rainy weather, with a yellow alert in place until 7pm today (November 13). ‌

According to the Met Office, a staggering 150mm of rain is likely to accumulate in the worst impacted areas, with 60-80mm more widely predicted. Those down south are being urged to prepare for travel disruption as well as taking caution over risks of flo
