Charlotte Church ’s son Dexter Henson has made his acting debut in a short film for the BBC .

The 16-year-old – who is the only son of Charlotte and her ex-partner, rugby star Gavin Henson – had a leading role in the one-off special for It’s My Shout, Waiting For Burton, which aired on BBC 2 Cymru earlier this week.

In the short, which is set in the 1970s, Dexter played an aspiring teen actor who landed the leading part of Hamlet in his school production of the Shakespeare play, beating a female classmate with a growing obsession with Richard Burton to the role.

Reflecting on his time on the set of Waiting For Burton, Dexter told It’s My Shout: “It was really good, it was my first time working on a set, so everything was a bit new for me. [But] it was great! I was well looked after
