Maine State Police said Wednesday that human remains discovered in the town of Blaine last month have been identified as a Presque Isle woman reported missing over the summer.
The chief medical examiner's office confirmed that the human remains discovered on Oct. 30 in Blaine have been identified as those of 36-year-old Tomis Hoyt, of the Presque Isle area. The cause and manner of her death remain under investigation.

No further details were released.
The Aroostook County Sheriff's Office had said back in July that it was looking for Hoyt, who had last been seen on Robinson Road in Mars Hill on July 13. Her family told police she was believed to have been barefoot and without any money.
