JACKSON — A Capitol Police pursuit of a stolen vehicle ended in a crash Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Highway 80 and J.R. Lynch Street.
According to authorities, the incident began around 12:40 p.m. when officers attempted to stop the vehicle, which refused to pull over and led police on a brief chase before colliding with another vehicle.
The stolen vehicle was occupied by three men. One suspect, 19-year-old Lawrence Jefferson, was taken into custody and charged with resisting arrest. Additional charges are expected.
Two other suspects fled the scene, police said. The driver of the other vehicle involved was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
