A man has admitted shooting a gangster dead at a city pub. Marc Webley was shot dead in a pub in Edinburgh on Hogmanay, regarded as the 'most important' Scottish holiday.
Grant Hunter, 34, shot the 38-year-old at the Anchor Inn in Granton, Edinburgh, just before midnight on New Year's Eve in 2023.
Webley was rushed to hospital but died from his injuries on January 1, 2024. Hunter was due to stand trial for the killing at the High Court in Edinburgh but pleaded guilty to Webley's murder on Wednesday, the Daily Record reports.
Two others - Emma McVie, 27, and Gary Robertson 22, also appeared at the High Court in Edinburgh and pleaded guilty to attempting to pervert the course of justice. Hunter also pleaded guilty to the attempted murder of Stewart Pearson during the sa
