Area residents lined Main Street on Tuesday to honor veterans for Morristown’s Veterans Day parade.
East and West High Schools marching bands played patriotic music and veterans of various eras rode through on floats or vehicles and received much due recognition for their service.
“It’s always an honor to do this,” Vietnam veteran Larry Evon said. “(We want people to know) their freedom is (preserved) by us veterans and the support we receive back home. (The support today means a lot to us), especially in weather like this. A couple of years ago it rained and we still had it, and it was quite cool tonight. I cannot believe the young children that showed up in the parade and just the audience we had here tonight.”
