MIDWOOD — A 41-YEAR OLD BUILDING superintendent was found fatally beaten inside a Midwood apartment building Wednesday morning, police said. Officers responding to 1199 Ocean Ave. around 8 a.m. discovered the man with head trauma; he was taken to Kings County Hospital and pronounced dead. Detectives believe the victim had confronted a suspected package thief before the dispute turned violent, according to amNY .

A man in his 30s was taken into custody for questioning, though no charges had been filed as of Thursday. Police have not released the victim’s name pending family notification. The 66th Precinct had reported no homicides this year before the incident.
