Gov. Kim Reynolds has ordered flags around Iowa to be lowered to half-staff again.
Flags were already lowered following the death of former Vice President Dick Cheney.
The federal law about the position and manner of display of the American flag says that it must be flown at half-staff following a vice president's death until their day of interment. Reynolds' order also directed the same.
Funeral services for Cheney will take place on Nov. 20.
Why are flags at half-staff today?
Reynolds released a second order for Nov. 13 in remembrance of former Iowa Sen. Larry McKibben, who died on Nov. 9.
Funeral services for McKibben are being held Nov. 13 in Marshalltown.
