CLARKE COUNTY, Iowa (KCRG) - The Clarke County Sheriff’s Office is requesting help from the public to locate the car that hit and killed a teenager.
Emergency crews responded to the crash at 5:52 p.m. Wednesday. The crash happened on the 2200 block of 130th Avenue, south of Murray, Iowa.
According to the crash report, the car hit the back of the buggy, running the buggy off the road into a ditch and throwing the 16-year-old male passenger out of the buggy.
The victim died of his injuries at the scene.
The crash report later identified the teen as Elmer Borntrager from Murray.
The vehicle that hit the victim is a silver or gray Chevrolet or similar General Motors sedan, according to the Sherriff’s Office.
