COLUMBIA, S.C. — Richland County deputies have arrested a suspect who they say shot and killed an 18-year-old earlier this week.
Officers arrested 17-year-old Jordon Lemmon and charged him as an adult with murder, criminal conspiracy, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and possession of a handgun under 18. The victim was identified by the Richland County Coroner as 18-year-old Dion Briggs.
According to deputies, on November 11, the victim attempted to buy a firearm from Lemmon at a location on Nearview Avenue, which is a few streets back of Percival Road. At some point, deputies said Lemmon shot and killed Briggs. Investigators said they were able to quickly identify Lemmon as the shooting suspect.
