Louis Partridge almost gave up the chance to star as George Wickham in the upcoming Netflix series adaptation of “ Pride and Prejudice .”

“I think I’m quite young for Mr. Wickham,” he told me Tuesday at the premiere of his new movie “Jay Kelly.”

In fact, he revealed, “When it first came round, I didn’t actually audition because I thought I was too young for it. Then it came around the second time and you think, ‘This time I have a bit of spare time on my hands, I’ll give it a go.'”

The cast also includes Emma Corrin as Elizabeth Bennet, Jack Lowden as Mr. Darcy and Olvia Colman as Mrs. Bennet. The six-episode series was written by Dolly Alderton and directed by Euros Lyn.
