Pope Leo XIV revealed his four favorite movies of all time, ahead of a special event at the Vatican. The Chicago-born pontiff, the first pope from the U.S., will host Hollywood filmmakers and actors like Cate Blanchett, Chris Pine, Spike Lee, Monica Bellucci, Gus Van Sant, Alison Brie, Dave Franco, George Miller and Viggo Mortensen on Saturday.
The pope “has expressed his desire to deepen dialogue with the World of Cinema… exploring the possibilities that artistic creativity offers to the mission of the Church and the promotion of human values,” the Vatican said in a statement.
To help start the conversation, the Vatican revealed Pope Leo’s favorite films are:
