CINCINNATI ( WXIX /Gray News) - A teenager pleaded guilty to murdering a woman in Ohio.
The teen, who was 13 at the time of the murder, pleaded guilty to aggravated murder, burglary and strangulation after being arrested in connection with the death of 64-year-old Sheila “Denise” Tenpenny.
As part of the teen’s plea deal, the teen will be held in the Department of Youth Services until his 21st birthday. The teen will take a victim-awareness class, earn his high school diploma and attend cognitive behavioral therapy.
Hamilton County Court Judge Kari Bloom said six years is “enough time to create a good or growth record,” but the choice is ultimately up to the teen.
According to prosecutors, the then-13-year-old researched “how to strangle someone” and “how to find the perfect victim”
