A 28-year-old Jersey City man was arrested and charged on Wednesday, Nov. 12 after a deadly shooting that occurred in the city earlier this year, authorities said.

At 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, Jersey City police responded after a car crashed into a tree on Old Bergen Road and Meritt Street and found Devon Reid, a 39-year-old Elizabeth resident, unresponsive and with a gunshot wound to the neck, Acting Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello said.

Reid was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead, Mello said.

Gerard Rosario was taken into custody by the Gang Task Force and United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Union City, Mello said.

He is charged with murder and multiple weapons offsenses, Mello said.
