An Indiana man wanted in connection with a 2024 homicide has allegedly told police that he shot another man to end his suffering.
Cameron Doaks, 24, was shot during an incident in Fishers, in northeast Indianapolis, late on the night of March 16, 2024. Local NBC affiliate WTHR reported at the time that several people were detained in connection with Doaks' shooting, which was ultimately fatal. One of those people was Caleb Weis, now 26 years old, who was named a suspect in the shooting on Nov. 5.
A day later, while police attempted to serve his arrest warrant, Weis was shot by an officer and hospitalized in critical condition.
Now that a case has been opened, local Fox affiliate WXIN has obtained court documents detailing what Weis told police when he was detained following Doaks' shoot
